“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Romans 10:9

What is Salvation?

Salvation is to be saved from something that is coming against you. It implies your inability to save yourself. Therefore, it also means depending upon someone else’s abilities or resources to rescue you or help you. In plain layman’s term, if you need to be saved then it is not within your ability to save yourself. You must depend on someone else ability and resource to save yourself.

Let us use the analogy of being out in the open ocean and not being able to swim. Therefore, your fate lies in the hands of the ocean. Whatever happens to you is determined by the mercy of the ocean not by you. What you lack determines how you are at the mercy of the ocean. The ocean can predict whether you will drown or not. Also, if you don’t get the help you need, you will certainly drown. Now if I came with a life preserver or life jacket, if you do not have confidence in it or believe in it, you will not be rescued. You must believe in what is being given to you or what is thrown to you in order for you to take hold of it. Likewise in The Bible says in the book of Isaiah, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.” God gave us his son to save us. We must have confident in God’s way or method of saving us. You trust the life preserver, but do you trust God?

Born again or being saved is called the new birth experience and it’s a gift that can not be earned but it is freely given when you decide to ask for forgiveness and confess that you want Jesus to become your savior.

If this is your desire and you’re ready to be free/delivered from the sins of your life and begin to understand that God truly have a plan for your life that includes peace, love, prosperity and a sober mind, say this prayer:

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
